Default Transferring to South Suburban College

Hi,

I'm a student starting classes in January at South Suburban College at Oak Forest, IL. I am originally from Rockford but currently live in DeKalb. The commute to Oak Forest from DeKalb is an hour in a half, usually closer to two hours, so I would like to move closer to the school.

However, I understand that many places in the South Suburbs are unsafe, and other places further north are out of my price range. I'm just looking for a simple apartment, could anyone recommend a safe area for a female college student to live?

Thank you for your time!

Oak Forest itself is safe, Tinley Park, Orland Park are all nice safe areas near Oak Forest.
