I was involved in a accident, in Bridgeview, Il other driver from Alabama and no insurance, she got ticket for that and I for failure to yield right of way. Then told we had a court date, why a court date? no damage to her vehicle and no injuried, liability claim marked as resolved.

Never heard of a court date for a car acciden? Please explain why?

Because you got a ticket and it's a must appear court date by Illinois Statute.

I think you may be confusing two different things. Injuries, liability, property damages, all pertain to insurance, which has nothing to do with a court appearance. (unless you're talking lawsuit for the above, which you are not)

You must have hit the other car, correct? In IL, you are at fault when you hit another car, and that's the reason you received a ticket and must now go to court. If the other party doesn't appear, the case will be dropped.

No damage to the other vehicle at all? That's surprising. Usually there's some kind of damage, even at the lowest of speeds.

As ofc said its required in your case by IL statute. If the other drive doesn't have insurance and is from Alabama she may not appear at all and the case will be dropped. It sounds like you're at fault though.
