Default Commute Algonquin to Itasca? How long?

Hi,

Looking at a job in Itasca and am looking at the housing in Algonquin. How long is the commute?
Closer areas do not offer the schools, demographics, crime and housing my family (2 small kids) is looking for, it seems that either Naperville or Algonquin are very nice. Any help is appreciated. TIA!

Algonquin? 30 minutes? Not anytime during rush hour- or ever really.

I would look at Glen Ellyn, Bartlett, Wheaton, Palatine, Hoffman Estates before I would make the commute to Algonquin. They are much closer to Itasca--

Algonquin to Itasca:

45-50 minutes on a sunny day with no contruction, 1 1/4 hour on normal day, 2-3 hours at 5pm-7pm during winter snowstorm

And I would add Elmhurst to this list as well. (But Palatine and Bartlett ? I wonder if that commute is pretty long as well )

Since the OP was looking at Algonquin, then there must have been a reason-- more space or more house--maybe family nearby -- who knows??? the OP didn't tell us. That's why I included Palatine and Bartlett-- reasonable $$$ and space and half the distance to Itasca tahn Algonquin-- I agree Itasca, Medinah, Elmhust, Glen Ellyn would all be equally good but perhaps more expensive..... Maybe the OP can elaborate....

Geneva-- great little community but difficult highway access--esp if going to Itasca.

It really has more to do with demographics, housing prices and crime. We are not interested in a home older than 1995 for the most part and our range is about to 450K
