It sounds very nice, but it also sounds like a few dozen other Chicago burbs.
Relaxed? Thats up to the individual.

Nice list, I'd pretty much agree with it. I haven't seen a few of these though.

You can also add Miller Beach Indiana (technically a neighborhood of Gary, but very nice, the best beaches between the coasts), Beverly Shores, Porter, Dune Acres, Ogden Dunes, Long Beach, Lakes of the Four Seasons, Dyer, Schererville, St. John, and Cedar Lake in Northwest Indiana....

Contrary to popular belief, parts of NW Indiana ,which is part of the Chicagoland area, are not that bad. NWI might not be very cosmopolitan or lively, but its very close to Chicago, very affordable and a good place to raise a family.
Munster, St.John, Schererville, Crown Point, Chesterton and Valparaiso are some of the best communities around.

The Indiana suburbs also have the advantage of instate tuition for both Purdue and IU. Illinois only has one real flagship university and competition to get in is brutal.
