Default Is LaGrange a religious community?

I've heard a lot of great things about LaGrange, Illinois and might even move my family there. I'm curious whether people who are not religious might feel out of place? Thanks for any input.

I wouldn't worry. It's not like a small rural town where people are centered around the church in their lives. I very rarely hear anyone in Chicago really bring religion up with much intensity. People are religious, but they're also quite open that everyone doesn't HAVE to be like them. I think that's more a northern thing.

I have a friend who moved from Chicago down to Arkansas, and she's having a really hard time dealing with it all, she doesn't like the religious aspects. She said they're very much southern baptists, and it's normally the first thing someone new will mention when she meets them. Hi, my name is XXX, so what church do you go to?

When I hear LaGrange, churches/religion is not the first thing that comes to mind. Yes, you will find religious people everywhere but I don't think you'll feel uncomfortable living there.

Wheaton is probably the only place where you may feel uncomfortable. Many many churches (it was dry till recently) and a religious college there.

No, LaGrange is perfectly average in this regard and is a good place to live. Good architecture, good downtown area, train to downtown Chicago, good schools, safe. Wheaton is the unusual town you are perhaps thinking of.
