Default Hidden Creek in Palatine?

Hello,

My fiance and I are looking for a new townhome. We were showed one by our realator in a complex called Hidden Creek in Palatine. It was absolutely beautiful inside, but I did notice a high hispanic population around. This is right off of 53 and Baldwin...is this an okay area or is this a place we should stay away from. One other area we saw and was interested in was in Wheeling, a complex called Lexington Commons....is this a nice or safe area? Please we need some direction. It is very difficult trying to find a town/coach home in a safe area that is not a dump BUT affordable in this area...how does ANYONE every start out?? It is very frusterating and we do not want to live in a condo....any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know about Hidden Creek, but Lexington Commons is nice. Stay away from Cedar Run though (the complex just west of Lexington Commons), it's not a safe place.

Default Hidden Creek

Hidden Creek is a very good community. I am living there for 4 years. It's just great. Schools are one of the best.

Currently, I have my townhouse for rental / rent to own / sell options.

Please view details of house at http://www.dmgweblabs.com/house/

My wife and I (we were just married in Feb) are in a VERY similar situation as you (slightly different area though).

We are renting in Oak Park right now but want to take the plunge and buy a place. We LOVE oak park but all the townhomes that are in our price range 180K-230K are too small for our tastes (let alone the tax issues...eek!!) and to be honest kind of on the dumpy side. Also, we really do not want a condo and do not want a single family house yet.

We are also looking in Elmhurst but that is still a little on the expensive side for something great. Something may pop up but any winners seem few and far between. Looks to be some good places in Downers and Willowbrook but then you are getting a little father away from the city. We may have found a hidden gem in Clarendon Hills but I am still need to sell it to my wife because she thinks the area is too "quiet".

Best of luck to you! With time you will find the right place (just as I am keeping my fingers crossed for my wife and I!)

I am biased against anything in the Baldwin/Rand/Dundee/Rte 53 area. Too many apartment complexes with "low-rent" districts. When purchasing remember: location, location, location. Where in Wheeling is Lexington Commons? What is your budget for housing?
