Hello, my wife and I are about to move from the NW side of the city to Forest park, just south and east of Harlem and 290. Just looking to see if anyone has any general tips or advice for a newbie to the area. I know about not parking overnight, but any other weird rules I may not be aware of? Any services provided that I may not be used to coming from the city? Anything else I should know? Thanks-

I know a lot about Forest Park and don't know any "weird rules". Check out the village website and the Forest Park Review. Harlem is a very congested street most of the time.
Can you be more specific?

I guess "weird rules" is subjective, I think overnight parking not being allowed is weird.

We'll be on Marengo south of 290.

Forest Park just passed a "saggy pants" ordinance. No more showing your undies. Banned. So if you are into gangsta fashion, or if you're an older fat guy without a belt and you struggle with a bit of butt crack now and then .... you could be fined up to $750.

Does that count?

The park near your place has an active softball league and a huge tournament in the summer. Enjoy. FP!

Happy Trails,

Pretty much every suburb of every American city has this restriction in one form or another. So no, it's not weird.
