I work in Elmwood Park, IL about mile from North and Harlem. I live in Orland Park, IL so the daily commute is about 45 minutes. I been looking for an affordable apartment close by. The only think I found is a studio for under $600.00 in Franklin Park, IL. According to map quest my commute would be about 15 minutes. Is it worth it? Does this sound like a deal? Is Franklin Park a nice area? Anything else I should please know? If this is not the correct forum for this please point me in the right direction. Thank you and Happy Presidents' Day!

It's more of an industrial area. Nothing special.

Ithought it was mostly industrial. So is there a low population? Would it be like McCook or Bedford Park? Are taxes cheaper due to theindustry? Is $600.00 for a studio a good deal? What you think aboutmy commute to work? Happy Presidents' Day!

The population isn't very small. The population is around 10,000 people. I guess it would be like Mccook and Bedford Park but bigger. $600 for a studio seems really low. Is the unit a foreclosure?

Commute from Franklin to Elmwood Parks shouldn't be bad. You could even take the train if you get tired of driving. Bedford Park? Only about 600 people live there; it's mostly industrial. Are there even apartments for rent there?

Bedford Park is around 40 minutes from Elmwood Park. Not a good commute.

Franklin Park however isn't far from Elmwood Park. It's only a 15-20 minute drive.

Yes Franklin Park is very close to Elmwood Park. Its just an average town, nothing special but nothing bad either provided you stay away from apartments near Mannheim Road. I went to high school there, grew up around there and have family there. I've had occasion to be in Franklin Park a few times over the last few years, nothing special, nothing great either. Why not try looking in Elmwood Park too? Also you can look in River Grove as well.
