Bolingbrook Il
Hi everyone, My husband and I are looking to buy our first home possible in Bolingbrook. We are looking in the area near the new mall (winston woods/village) area. Can anyone tell me how these neighborhoods are? Crime, Schools, people, things to watch out for....
Thankyou for your help

Be careful where you buy in Bolingbrook. Your best bet is North closer to Boughton. Bolingbrook has some sketchy areas that slowly but surely get worse all the time. There is a tiny sliver of Bolingbrook that attends Naperville schools, which would probably be better than Bolingbrook schools. At least you would get to live in a town with two Meijers! And as for Drew Peterson, well ladies I think the moral of the story is don't marry ANYONE with the last name Peterson.

I would buy in the Oswego school district. If you want to be closer to to Bolingbrook you could always buy in Plainfield, but in the Oswego school district. Grande Park which is on 127th street is excellent. Anything around that area is great. I personally wouldn't live in Bolingbrook if I could avoid it.

Very true! I find Boughton to be a very funny area as Weber road turns in Naper Blvd. On one side, you see Bolingbrook with it's spawl and strip malls. While nice enough, it jut looks 'tacky' and unoriginal in my opinion. But just down the road is a tree lined street with tons of new construction, even though you can't really tell, with picket fences and wide sidewalks, lots of shade, and just a cohesive and very authentic feel that Bolingbrook lacks. If Bolingbrook wants to ever be something, it should conteract this by doing the same! The mayor from Bolingbrook wants to degrade Naperville by saying that the only difference between Naper and Blgbrk is the fact that Bolingbrook has furniture in their houses. Well, ok. But take a look for yourself. At least Naperville looks warm and inviting. Naperville has taken the term "sustained growth" to a whole new level, and it has done well for them. Get on the stick Bolingbrook and do the same. Don't complain just because something is better, while you could be doing the same. You don't have to be big and have loads of money to do it either. Just look at Plainfield!
