Default Approx Property Tax in Grayslake?
We're thinking of moving to Grayslake after the birth of our first child in a few months. Can anyone tell me what we can expect for property tax in that area? We'd be looking for a home in the $350-$375K range. Thanks for your help!

If I did my math correctly the property taxes would be in the $10K range on a $350K house. Taxes up this was are steep.

it's about 2.5% [that was in 2000, but it probably hasn't changed much]

I calculated on your price 'guess' $8750 - 9375

if you are seriously considering a particular town, you can always call the township's tax assessors office.

Taxes in most of the northern Il region are HIGH no matter where you go.
