Naperville, La Grange, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills. Maybe check out Downers Grove. Nice town area.

It sounds like your wife is accepting BOTH offers. Is that the case or can she only choose one?

Justice is a decent town. There's really not much to it, but it is a pretty safe area. I would also expand your search to these towns too:
Closer to Midway:
-Willow Springs
-Darien
-Willowbrook
Closer to O'hare
-Westchester (less than 30 minutes from Midway, so if your wife chooses the job near Midway, Westchester can still be an option)
-Wood Dale
-Itasca
-Lombard
-Elk Grove Village
You'll find a good amount of townhomes in your budget in these towns, yet you'll live in a nice area.

She can accept only one as its a full time salaried position . But she is not too keen on the Holycross hospital position which is near Midway as google shows the crime rate is kind of high over there but it pays $7000 a year more so its a minor confusion.

How is woodridge?
The prices for houses on sale over there is insanely low. I found a 3bd 3ba SF ~1800sq with 2.5car parking for around 200k there.

Hey thank you!

I am looking into these. The thing about wood dale , itasca is that it takes around 25-30min to reach the resurrection medical center where my wife might work and same amount of time for hinsdale where i work. If we live somewhere around Lagrange,Hinsdale or downers grove that reduces my commute to 10-15min and my wife commute remains the same as it would if we were staying in northwestern suburbs ie ~30min. I hope that didnt come off as too confusing

I like townhouses because usually we are not responsible for landscaping and snow removal.
I m looking into townhouses up for sale but i see HOA fees of upto 400-500 a month and i think woaah, I'd rather pay that much more towards my mortgage if i were into market of purchashing a house.

I would add Downers if you are ok with commute. Here is something to check out if buying is maybe being considered. Real Estate - 51 Homes For Sale | Zillow ~ This location is awesome and there will be 3bed or 2bed options.

Downers feels good tbh. I would have a 15-20min drive and my wife 35-40min, if she is okay with it than it would be perfect. I just need to find a proper place though. 2-3bd, 2+ba and a 2 car garage. Garage is must in chicago because of the weather, i hate a snow covered car in the morning!

I m kind of open to buying but my wife says lets settle into our jobs and be financially secure and then consider buying which does make sense. I am not too much into being in a half million dollar debt and back in UK our house was bought fully in cash something i cant do right now because i just starting earning few months back

Woodridge is nice. It's a nice affordable alternative to towns like Downers Grove, La Grange, Hinsdale, etc. I was actually going to mention it, but I thought the commute might be too much. It's about 30 minutes to Midway and 30 minutes to O'hare. It's not too far from Hinsdale though, which is good. Another less expensive alternative to many west suburban towns is Lisle, just north of Woodridge; this might also be another option too.

I definitley agree with you about the HOA fees, why pay so much when you're not paying for a single family home? However, if the taxes are low on a townhouse with high HOA fees, it might be worth checking out. Even though the towns mentioned by other posters, like Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, etc. have a great quality of life, I wouldn't want to pay so much to live there and would rather move to a more affordable area that is still nice, if I was an empty nester. One of the pluses about being an empty nester is that you don't have to pay so much to be in a good school district which is why many of the towns mentioned by other posters are so expensive. If you're not utilizing the schools, why pay so much? Woodridge and Lisle do have good schools, but the more expensive towns have top rated school districts which is why the costs are so high.

The key for the OP is going to be SHOP WIDELY! Since they don't have kids the schools don't matter! There are LOTS of little pockets of townhomes and condos and even some quiet little areas with decent rental homes. The folks that own the nice places often do not bother advertising much beyond a bulletin board in the local grocery store! There are situations in all kinds of towns that folks overlook -- pockets of Hinsdale /Burr Ridge /Western Springs between 55th & Plainfield Rd, parts of Elmhurst between Butterfield & Roosevelt, Lombard /Villa Park / Oakbrook Terrace...

These are safe, easy to commute options!
