Presumably Cal City itself is the 'lost cause.'

Calumet City will never be what it was when it was in its glory. The strip on State St. is now a haven for drug dealers as well as addicts.
When I lived there in my teen years, the police were more concerned with pulling me over and tearing apart my car for things they KNEW they wouldn't find rather than doing their jobs and finding the crack dealers and murderers like they should be.

When it got to it's worst, just before I moved last year, I was being pulled over a MINIMUM of 4 times a week because I was a white guy. They assumed that I was only there because I was buying drugs because all of the people my age who chose to live their lives legitimately had been run out of the city years before.

One of the police officers who shall remane nameless lives right next door to my best friend. Now Im not sure if this is still going on because like I said Ive been gone for almost a year and a half, but he had an intercom system hooked to the back of his garage, and people would go there and buzz the intercom so that they could buy drugs off of this police officer.

A city with a corrupt police force, a corrupt mayor, and (not all of course, but most) trash for citizens is simply a lost cause. Sad but true, and I just dont think anybody who has lived in Cal City for more than 15 or 20 years can argue with me.

Yeah yeah, we understand how you feel about Cal City already. I'm still trying to figure out just what proposition or institution or whatever you thought I was defending. Your rant doesn't answer my question. It just rants.
