I feel like Barrington (and its namesakes) get mentioned way less than I ever expected.

Some (Indian Creek, Golf, Garden Prairie) don't get mentioned because they are small. Some because they never actually incorporated (Wildwood, Flowerfield), and others because they have almost no industry. You don't see "started new job in (Island Lake, Lindenhurst, Winthrop Harbor), where should I live?"

There's just recently been a few threads about it, but other than that, I've actually never seen it mentioned on here.

I think Lemont is one of the most least mentioned suburbs on this thread for being the size that it is, having a Metra stop, having okay schools, and being closer to the city than some of the other suburbs that are commonly mentioned. It's not a bad area at all and has some nice upscale neighborhoods along Rt. 83 as well as in the area off 355, but I just don't ever hear of it being mentioned except on VERY few occasions! It also covers a pretty decent size geographical area.

Having a Metra stop along the Heritage Corridor is not much to brag about. The frequency is a joke compared to most of the other lines.

I vote McHenry. Only threads I ever saw about it were ones I started. Crystal Lake also doesn't get much attention for a town of its size on the NW Metra line. Maybe because they're the most outer planets in the Chicago solar system?
