Currently live in an apartment complex in Mount Prospect. Husband and I are looking into buying a townhouse that is anywhere from 130,000-175,000 that is at least 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. We love Mount Prospect, but it has been impossible to find a townhome in that price range here. We found some new construction in Pingree Grove that starts at 130,000. My concern are schools...I have a child going into Elementary and also into Highschool. If we stay where we're at now my son would be going into Prospect Highschool which is one of the top high schools in the area. If we move he would be going to Hampshire Highschool and my other child to Gary D. Wright Elementary. Anyone know how these schools rate?

Thanks

Hampshire's alright. Have you looked in Saint Charles? I feel like there's a decent amount of townhomes/rentals there with a variety of prices. And you'd have better schools, to boot.

Have not looked in Saint Charles. Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to check it out! We really want to move into our own home, but everything in Mount Prospect and the surrounding towns are out of our budget. :-(
