Relocating to southwest Chicago area...need advice!
My fiance has just taken a new position in Tinley Park, IL. We know nothing about the area, and I am still looking for employment. We are looking for the same thing as most people, safe, and affordable! Any suggestions on suburbs to look into or specific apartment or townhome communities would be GREATLY appreciated? It sounds like Tinley Park is a good area, but we're having a hard time finding a place online, we are currently out east so we have to find a place via the internet. Thanks in advance for all the help!

price range
Well we aren't too familiar with what we will have to pay to be in a good area, but somewhere between $750-$850 would be great.

Check out Orland Park, Tinley Park, Frankfort, Mokena, New Lenox, Palos Heights, Palos Park. All are safe areas, have great schools, and easy access to shopping and dining.

I did a quick search on Apartments.com - Free Nationwide Apartment Search with the Most Visual Rental Listings Online. and found 2 complexes that might fit the bill for you. Looks like your budget will only get you a 1-bedroom, hope that's o.k. They are:
Edenbridge Apartments
18134 S. 66th Ct.
Tinley Park, IL 60477
Leasing Office: (866) 856-3855
These are a great location, close to downtown Tinley Park which has some cute little bars and restaurants, and also the train since you mentioned you don't have a job yet. That way you will have easy access to get downtown if you end up working downtown.
The other complex is:
Apartments of Orland
16005 Applewood Ln.
Orland Hills, IL 60487
Leasing Office: (866) 461-8300
These are very close to all the dining and shopping options of Orland Park. Once again it looks like your budget will get you a 1-bedroom.
I've never known anyone personally who lived in either of these complexes so I don't know what the apartments themselves look like, but I can tell you they are both in great, safe areas with lots of dining, shopping, and nightlife nearby. Hope this helps!

My fault I wasn't very clear we are looking to rent for awhile so I can find a job and we can be a bit more familiarized with the area before buying something.
