I’m possibly moving to the Bensenville area for a job. I was just wondering if there’s anything in particular I should know about the town. (i.e. Apartments to rent or places to avoid.) As for the living, I’m not opposed to looking in one of the neighboring burbs for an apartment. I’m looking for rent around $850. I haven’t had much luck with finding any information besides the usual demographics. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

there are seedy areas of Bensenville... so be careful of where you move to.
I'm two towns over, but i dont know it well. My neighbors used to live there, and they were in a good area ... which i believe was North of Irving, but West of 83.
I do think apartments will be your low income families, which has a very high Hispanic population.
I think there is good and bad with many suburban villages ... it's just finding the "right" part of town.
Bensenville is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The worst parts are around Irving and York...the parts they want to knock down for O'Hare expansion. Most apartments buildings will be a bit shady though.
And don't forget you will have Victory Auto Wreckers at your beckoning call who can be reached at 860-2000 for a quote. Victory will buy your car no matter what condition it is in and will tow it away free and give you cash on the spot! (as they hand you $60 in twenties for your car after the door falls off! LOL!!!)Or you can save money by fixing up your car with used parts... Victory has over 7 acres of used parts... Starters, transmissions, batteries, for ALL types of cars. Victory Auto Wreckers 710 East Green in Besenville near O'hare. 860-2000. LOL! That is what comes to mind when I think of Bensenville now. YouTube - Victory Auto Wreckers Commercial #2 LMFAO!

LMAO! I watched that commercial as a kid and now my kids are watching the same commercial. I also have it memorized. I really like the guy's black leather studded bracelet. Where can I get one of those?

I love that burn out dude. All he needs, is to have a shopping cart filled with cans next to him as he tries to get in the car to get on his way to the recycling center before the door falls off. God where did they find that burn out anyways? LOL

That commercial is like 25-30 years old. Most young males looked like that then.

I agree. You'll find something. There are some apartments right along the Elmhurst/Bensenville boarder on Grand Avenue between Dominicks and St. Charles Borremeo that are your "basic" apartment. They are safe and have all types of people from single moms, to young adults, to seniors in there. I see them outside and walking to Dominicks often. I definitely have not heard any problems though. The apartments on the other side of York behind the car dealerships are more lower-income, hispanic families. I actually do not think there is much crime there at all, just very crowded. The families watch out for each other. Overall just scout your area, there are definitely nice places around Bensenville and it really is not such a bad place as people say.
