Default Living Right next to Metra Station

I'm a single professional female and will be relocating to northwest suburb of Chicago in mid Febuary for work. I have been trying to find housing in the area within 15 miles drive to Mettawa. My real esate agent has found me a property right next to Mundelein Metra station. It's a brand new condo and it has all the amenities I wanted. Since I'm out of state and I won't be able to visit the property before moving to the area, I was wondering if I can get advice on : (1) Is this a safe and nice neighborhood to live? (2) Since the building is so close to the metra station (within 200 feet), I'm a bit concerned about the noise from the train. Does anyone have any experience living close to the metra station? Is the noise manageable? I appreciate any advice.
