I am in my mid 20's and looking to move out of the parents house and get my own place. I work in the suburbs (Bedford Park) and only have about a 15 minutes commute right now to work. I am looking at the suburbs just because I like a little more space. Also I have car projects so kinda want a garage and also play the drums and that really wound t work too well in a downtown apartment. I am not sure what suburb to look at that kinda has somewhat of a younger demographic and is not just all older people and families. I also don't want to make my commute really long and that is another reason I think I want to stay in the burbs as well as what I mentioned above. Any thoughts would be appreciated....

I just moved from the City to Harwood Heights, while like the City, lower taxes and vehicle stickers are less and it literally is next to the city. Best of both worlds. For you I would recommend Palos Hills, maybe even Oak Lawn.

It seems like areas to the West are more built up and I often see some young 20-30s people. La Grange is a pretty nice area, close to Bedford, and has a Metra station.
