Traffic from Naperville to Rosemont
I am planning on moving to Naperville in a few months and I have a job opportunity in Rosemont. Can someone please tell me how the traffic would be during rush hour? Also, would it be better to take the train or should I drive myself?

Ugh. Make that Double Ugh.
There's no simple way to take the train there, either.

That is a bad commute. Do you have to live in Naperville? Or can you find a job closer to Naperville? Not to rain on your parade, but you won't have many waking hours in your Naperville house from Monday-Friday. If work/life balance is important to you and you'd like to be home by 6:00 or 6:30, I'd revamp this plan. If you want to take this job, I'd consider Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Park Ridge and Arlington Heights as alternatives to live in.

What part of Naperville? Southwest Naperville to Rosemont = ugh, but up near 88 it wouldn't be as bad. I currently travel from the west side of Bolingbrook to O'Hare every day (via 55 and 294) and my commute is about 45 minutes in the morning and 55-60 minutes in the afternoon. I occasionally take 355-88-294 (which would probably be the combo you'd take) so I'm familiar with the traffic along there.

I have to agree with everything you just said.. To the OP,, I assume that you must be moving from Cali to our area because of that job offer in Rosemont. If this is the case, I would really recommend either Park Ridge or Arlington Heights if you want your quality of living to be similiar to that of Naperville. Even though I am a south sider, I have many friends that live in both suburbs and they are very very nice suburbs. I actually think that Park Ridge has more old town charm than Naperville does.
