Niles North 36; Niles West 36.

And to be clear, the "ready for next level" scores reflect the combination of the "met" plus "exceeded" scores on the PARCC.

Due to a number of issues with this test it will no longer be administered to high school students. I wouldn't put much weight into the results. Average ACT/SAT scores much more relevant to college admission.

Until next year's SAT scores are released, this is the only mandated measuring stick available.

PARCC is an invalid measurement... My H.S. kids and all their smart friends (like every single kid I spoke to) treated the test as a joke. Either they got out of taking it (via absence note from parent or counselor waiver - counselors gave waivers because they thought it was a joke too). Or, the students did the ABCABC approach and finished the hours long test in minutes. BTW, all these kids I spoke to are Honors/AP level college-bound students. They'd rather spend their time on more important things - like studying for AP Physics or the SAT. As a school indicator, this test is useless.

Yes, now that's a test that the students really care about.

...which I suspect is "by design"...

There are a whole of people that really really really DID NOT benefit from the emphasis on publishing uniform data about school performance. Both the very weak Prairie State / ISAT series of assessments as well as the "dreamed" PARCC tests that were SUPPOSED to allow state-to-state comparisons ended up shining spotlights on what a HUGE gulf exists between some of the well off areas where kids enter school well prepared and are encouraged to take advantage of challenging school work to embark on lucrative careers and the rather more dismal path that exists for kids from underprivileged backgrounds and schools that do too little to help kids succeed after compulsory schooling.

The lame efforts to "renorm" previous tests fits with the tendency of Illinois politicians to prefer obscuring data than taking action on an alarming trends and the decision to drop PARCC is motivated in equal parts by knowledge that even school kids now see that sham of the effort as well the ludicrous nature of test items dreamed up by ivory tower types that are clueless about the struggles of schools from either well off or impoverished areas...

I also cannot help but think that the fact the guy that used to head up PARCC now being part of the parent of SAT is yet another sick example of how Illinois LOVES to "take care of insiders"...

Wow... Have not been following this too closely. So let me see if I have this straight...

1. IL public high schools administer ACT free for years.

2. HS students then forced to take state-administered PARCC.

3. Head of PARCC then moves to College Board which administers SAT.

4. PARCC is dropped from IL HS.

5. IL public HS switch from administering ACT to administering SAT due to, what I heard, was a low bid.

Mr. PARCC, now Mr. SAT is doing alright.... Wonder who else is profiting?

Better off using average ACT scores in the meantime. 2014 scores are still relevant as these scores rarely see drastic changes year over year.
