Maybe it's me but I find most people, especially the women, living in
Chicago are rude. I live on Long Island, but I have a lot of contact with people from Chicago for business and they have some attitude. Even the people that suppose to be professionals are rude and not friendly at all. What's up with the "stinky" attitudes??????????? |

This has to be a joke - compared to NYC and the surrounding areas, Chicago and the surrounding areas are the friendliest parts of the country.
I deal with folks from NYC, Long Island, Jersey and CT daily and they all are really, really rude. |

this seems a bit troll-ie but whatever, I absolutley do not think this is the friendliest part of the country, that is some whacky myth right up there with .... I dont know, the Loch Ness or something. People here are normal....all types, not many overly friendly though, unless you consider people minding their own business friendly (there are much worse things)

Interesting. I have done 3 relo stints to the NYC metro area and then back to Chicago land. And each time, I had to adjust to a slower pace and less aggressiveness than I found in the NYC area where the concept of letting people out of the train or elevator, before boarding means you will be left behind.
Physical aggressiveness aside, I found the people to be equally friendly/unfriendly. |

Agree with the above posters, having spent alot of time on the east coast (NYC) and west coast, I find the people in the mid west and chicago the most down to earth and friendly. We get what we give out here. Check your own "stinky" attitude.

I thought so to. When I see posts like this that beg for confrontation, I always check the ops other posts.

Maybe they're rude because they know you are from NYC?

What about compared the South/Texas? I know manyt people find many of the personalities friendly in a slightly fake way I suppose.
But nonetheless, the southern friendliness is VERY pleasant, and makes one reconsider just how friendly Chicago and other midwestern places are. |

Boy is that the truth! "clicky-ness" at its best here, if you're from here everyone is very friendly to eachother, but you throw in a bit of that eastcoast accent and its all over, and don't even mention the Red Sox or Yankees here, same goes for The Packers. Thems is fightin words. ![]() |
