Looking for Italian cookies!
Could someone help me find an Italian bakery that sells those great cookies? I'm looking for the raspberry jam filled and chocolate dipped with sprinkles. I live in St. Charles; is there a place nearby?

frantonios in barrington is really good, great deli and lots of imported italian pastas and stuff like that. I have never eaten the cookies but I have seen them and they make fresh cannolis. There is also a great italian deli/bakery in the strip mall at Milwaukee/Washington Ave in Gurnee (cant recall the name of it)

You HAVE to go to Ca****'s!! they just built the new store along randall road in Elgin (south elgin?) not sure which. Tons of good stuff there in the bakery as well as the rest of the store. I do know they carry the "lemon knots"... and some good manicotti.
Butera used to carry some Italian bakery stuff but kind of phased it out for some reason. They do have cannolli there I think. As well as the canolli shells and Italian cuisine ingredients.
yum.

Hey - they block out the name for some reason on this forum: so the name of the store is (with periods in between the individual letters) c.a.p.u.t.o.s.

There are various Ca****'s markets around the area: Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, etc... I'm not sure how far they go west, but they have a great bakery. I cheated this year for Christmas and bought my cookies there and everyone raved. The lemon knots are especially fantastic.

That was pretty funny that we all recommended the same place: C.A.P.U.T.O.s at the same time. How is that for a recommendation?

Great Italian ice brand there too: Lezza - highly recommend the watermelon ice. I don't see that brand anywhere else I shop. And all kinds of gelato there too. OK - now I am hungry...

The blocked out letters are a Spanish language swear word. That's a very comprehensive filter they have on this board!
