I used to live next door to Bethany .... it's a parking lot now, but back in the early 70's it was an OLD farm house built in the 1880's i believe. from what i recall, it was a great home ... garage is still there.
My best friend was also married at Bethany, nice church.... we have A LOT of churches.

Thanks everyone. We are visiting next weekend and going to look at houses in Itasca and Wood Dale. Does anyone know what parking is like at the train stations in those towns? My husband will hopefully be taking the train to work. Should he get a parking permit so he doesn't have to worry about finding a spot or are those lots not usually full?

Itasca just added a new lot a year or so ago. they also have a "permit" only lot. I do not know what that costs though... but it is the closest to the station.
the wood dale station ... i'm trying to think of their lot. But i can tell you, the area is much higher traffic especially at rush hour. it's one of those tracks that runs on an angle across Irving Park road, but also hits Wood Dale road ... so traffic gets backed up in all 4 directions at once... nightmare when you go thru there during high traffic times.
As DH and I were coming home from dinner tonight [great local sushi place] we were commenting on all the homes for sale. where, say 5-10 yrs ago, you couldn't find anything... and if there was a home, it would be snatched up pretty quickly.
If you have any questions on Itasca -- homes or areas... feel free to pop me a msssg ... I've lived here forever and a day. [ok, almost 40 yrs.. but that makes me sound old]

The village provides several parking areas designated for Metra commuters. Daily pay lots are available for $1.25 per day as well a permitted lot. Permits are purchased on a quarterly basis. The permit is available at the Village Hall for $50.00 (Itasca Residents) or $75.00 (non-residents).

Hope This Helps

YOUR IN LUCK!
Next door to elmhurst is a great town called Villa Park. Dist 88 schools are fantastic and it has a wonderful downtown area near the library. The homes range from 200's on the North side, and the south side nearer to Elmhurst and the Praire path (prime location) you can score a beautiful house for around or below the numbers you posted!
