Default Tax Rate multipliers for West Burbs

Does anyone know where you can get a listing by community of their tax rates and multipliers? Need to do some comparison shopping for a friend and taxes are an important issue.

thanks

you might have your friend check the websites for the various counties that they are looking at. that would be the first step. that would show some of the basics. then, determine which communities your friend is really interested in. The western suburbs is a pretty big place with quite a variety of communities to choose from.

I did a search like this once for a friend in West Chicago ... i just did a 'google' for tax base per whatever county or township i was looking for.

I do recall the one i found for DuPage county was pretty extensive in their information ... where i do not believe Kane was as good.

The list for DuPage County can be found here (Property Tax Rates) and the list I put together for Cook County is here (Property tax rates for towns in Cook County). For Kane County you're on your own.

Kane county has their own tax info site but you may have to input specific parcels or have the tax code. Also the info is on the each town's website:

Kane County Tax Information

Ours in unincorporated st. charles township happens to be 6.044641.
