Hello, I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a house in Oak Park and am hoping to get some perspectives on commuting from Oak Park to Chicago. Does anyone take the PACE buses to the L or Metra stops and what are your experiences with them (on time, crowded, clean, etc)?

How is commuter parking by the Metra stop? Is it a daily fee you need to pay and if so, by what time does it fill up? I lived in the burbs one other time before and needed to get on one of the earlier trains just to get a parking space.

Thanks for your help.

There are CTA and Pace buses running down Austin, Ridgeland, Oak Park, and Harlem connecting all the Green line and metra stops. They run fairly frequently during rush hours and are a reasonalbe commuting choice. Parking near the metra station is $135/quarter (daytime only, 24 hr parking costs more) and there are plentiful spots available at multiple lots. There is also daily parking as well.
