When I'm craving a Monical's Pizza. No can do. When I want to go jogging on a crystal clear morning on the Riverfront with the sunset just rising over the skyline, and then head over to the Riverplex, and then watch a barge go by on Peoria Lake, while sitting underneath the Murray Baker Bridge, watching the commuters come into the city, eating a homemade wrap from a random outside downtown vendor, and then seeing a show at the Rhythm Kitchen, or Panache, or a Bradley Game, or Chiefs Game that night, or driving along Grandview Drive admiring old mansions nestled along the hillside, or taking a stroll through Wildlfe Prairie Park, or sitting on our boat watching the fireworks as thunder through the river valley, or golfing on award winning courses like Weaver Ridge or Lick Creek, or listening to one of the oldest and most prestigious symphonies in the nation, or cheering on the Rivermen, or seeing a rock concert at the Civics Center...or...or...or... See what I mean? But I will give that up so that I can continue to support my family and give them the best quality of life we can have. What is the world coming to when people choose quanity over quality. I will never understand that way of thought.

But you know what? If you could land a job back in Peoria that paid well to support your family (after moving back up here next year), you know dang well youd move back to Peoria, just so you can enjoy the things you mentioned, because YOU prefer them. Thank you for proving my point.

Carol Stream area
Hi. I would have to disagree with the reply saying stay away from Carol Stream. I currently live in Carol Stream and grew up in this area. The town has very, very little crime if zero crime. The school districts (from elementary and up) are in the 16th percentile or better in the state (schooldigger.com for the ratings). All of the schools are rated no less than 4 stars out of 5 on several academic standards (schooldigger.com) There is an award winning park district centrally located in the town. The mayer has "jazzed up"the entrance to the town with a beautiful fountain and bike path. In the summer the fountain park has bands and concerts. It is a very family oriented neighborhood. Many of the families who live in the area do not move out of Carol Stream; many family just up size in home. In addition, it is centally located and about a 10 minute drive on a bad day to reach 355 expressway or 290. Less then 10 minutes to reach the Elgin-OHare expressway.

Ok, seriously Peoria is an accumulation of hillbillies and white trash from rural illinois outskirts. I unfortunatly have to drive there for army drills. The place is trash! Chicagolands taxes are a small price to pay.
