I thought you might want to know, there is Village of Montgomery and there is Montgomery in the unincorporated Kendall County (and maybe also Kane County.) The 2 areas are very different. Here is a map showing the Village's boundaries with neighboring towns.

I think the biggest businesses in the village are Caterpillar, Dial Corp. (Soap) and Super Walmart and many mid- to small ones. (The village's business page was down.) There are new housing developments to the east and west of the village. I think they mainly go to Oswego's Dist 308. Some to the north might go to Aurora's school. This part I am not sure.
Unincorporated Montgomery is mainly Boulderhill subdivision. My elderly neighbor used to tell me (he lived here when Boulderhill was being built in the early '70s) for years Oswego wanted to annex BH and the residents voted it down every time. Reason? Oswego has high taxes.
You can tell the unincorporated Montgomery in BH by looking at the sidewalks. If it is in Oswego, it is 5' in from the curb; otherwise, it runs right along the curb.
Oswego is roughly to the south. Here is a current boundary map.

I have lived in BH since '93 and I feel Montgomery, BH, and Oswego are all great areas to raise a family. I have been to Sugar Grove or Girl Scouts events and I thought it is also a great area.
The only difference is Sugar Grove does not have too many retail businesses like the town to its east; you most likely need to drive 15 to 25 minutes to major shopping stores. Another might be property tax, which you could look up online.
