Recommend a daycare between Lake Zurich and Libertyville?
Can anyone out there recommend a daycare for an infant somewhere in or between Lake Zurich (where I live) and Libertyville (where I work)? I'll be going back to work after maternity leave, and this is weighing on my mind.
How much does it cost/is there a waiting list are the 2 big questions I have. I don't have any preferences right now regarding at-home, in-house, nanny, big place, small place, whatever. As long as you can tell me that you and your kid liked it, I'll check it out!
Thanks!!!

Sorry, I live in Schaumburg and don't use daycare at this time. However, I am always evalutating local programs because my work schedule might change and I might need daycare next fall for Mondays.
Since no one yet can help you, I suggest going to yahoo yellow pages and doing a search for daycare in these cities. Also, make sure you sort by distance so you don't get the advertised ones that are far away. Sometimes, people review them on Yahoo yellow pages. If you don't get any reviews, you call them up and tour them.
You might also want to check with the libraries in these areas. The Schaumburg library published a booklet of daycares in the area.
Sorry I couldn't be more help

great daycare in Buffalo Grove
Don't know if this will help or not but there is a great daycare center in Buffalo Grove at the Jacob Duman Jewish Community Center (you do not have to be Jewish to use the service.) It's a wonderful facility at the Woodland Commons shopping plaza on 370 Half Day Rd. The number is 847-955-0005. Good luck in your search.

Many local churches/religous groups sponsor daycare
I think they can run this things at a little bit of loss due to their n-f-p status. The have fund raisers to cover the shortfall. Just like the religious schools the teachers tend to stay a LOOONG time and be very dedicated. The little kids are not "recruited" too much, and most parents are not either. They have the same state requirements for background checks, safety, play areas. A lot of the places get national certification too.
Definitely worth checking out. More than a few places have waiting listings as the intentionally limit enrollment to not have to hire excessive staff and then cut 'em when enrollment falls.
