Default Terramere in Arlington Heights

Can anyone tell me about a neighborhood in Terramere in Arlington Heights just south of Lake-Cook Road? Is it upscale, friendly, diverse?

REPLY: Dont know much about Terramere specifically , but, Arlington Heights is a popular part of Chicagoland , very centrally located for excellent shopping , fancy Malls, good for family activities , outstanding restaurants, summer activities, music in the parks during the summer months, and id say its reasonably friendly from my past experiences. Major highways and Interstates are close by and its fairly easy to get around.

I used to live really close to there. I always thought it was a great neighborhood. The houses are big and not too far from the schools, which are all on Arlington Heights Rd between Lake Cook Rd and Dundee Rd. There's also a nice park with a playground off of Schaefer Rd and Nickol Knoll Golf Club is right across from there (it's run by the Arlington Hts Park District). I don't golf but tons of people walk/jog on the path that winds around the course which is really nice. Also, across Lake Cook Rd from Terramere is a forest preserve with walking paths that connect into neighborhoods in Long Grove and Buffalo Grove. Shopping and restaurants are really convenient to that area too. There's a Dominicks on Lake Cook & Arlington Heights Rd, a Walgreens on Dundee Rd & Arlington Hts Rd, and there are various clothing stores in the strip malls along Dundee Rd west of Arlington Hts Rd. There's a Portillo's on Dundee Rd there, a really good Chinese restaurant (Yen Yen) in the Terramere plaza on Lake Cook & Arlington Hts Rd, diagonally opposite that is the Buffalo which is a really popular family-type restaurant, and on Dundee Rd & Arlington Hts Rd is the Melting Pot which is an amazing (but expensive) fondue restaurant. There are two Dunkin Donuts within a mile, a Domino's Pizza and a Baskin Robbins next to Dominick's, and a Pizza Hut next to one of the Dunkin Donuts.

It's all relative.

I think Terramere is nice and friendly. The sub division is almost 30 years old.

Right now there are 6 homes for sale with asking prices ranging from about $500-639. Highest priced sale was almost $800. Most homes however, sell in mid $500's- low $600's.
