Default Fun activities in Naperille/Batavia?

Hi, we're taking our boys, ages 13 and 9, up to Batavia to celebrate my husband's grandparents' 70th wedding anniversary! Besides celebrating with them, we're staying for a few days. They live in Batavia, but our hotel is in Naperville. Just wanted to know some recommendations on fun while we're there. I doubt we'll actually go into Chicago, so I just want to know some fun things to do near where we'll be. Anything age-appropriate for kids 13 and 9. Thanks!

When are you coming out?

There's TONS to do and see in Naperville alone... here are some of my recommendations:

Stroll the riverwalk in downtown Naperville.
If its warm enough, swim at the quarry near downtown.
Take a paddleboat out onto the pond near the Millenium Carillion.
Enjoy one of the hundreds of restaurants in town.
The arcades at Brunswick FunZone.
Stroll the fountains along Washington St. just south of downtown.
Kane County Cougars minor league baseball game in nearby Geneva.
Endless shopping in Naperville (downtown and along Rt. 59).

Okay, yeah I guess weather does play a part. We'll actually arrive there this Friday, so anything weather-appropriate. I won't be swimming in the quarry anytime soon, but the riverwalk sounds nice. Thanks for the ideas!

Well, its gonna be below normal temperature wise (around 50 degrees or more this weekend), but sunny, so you should be able to stroll around outside alot. There is also a AMC30 theatre in nearby Warrenville if you want to take in some movies or something.

There is Funway in Batavia on route 25. they have bumper cars, bowling, skating, arcade etc. I have not been there in a while, but it was always a fun place to go for everyone.

I agree with Funway on Rt. 25. Odyssey Fun world is also a hit. You can do the mega climber for $7.00 and spend hours and hours there. My kids don't even ask for the arcade stuff because they are so tired from the cimber thingy. Downtown Naperville is a great place to stroll with shops and the Riverwalk. Endless amounts of restaurants! If the weather is decent I like to sit outside at Venice Tavern in Batavia on Rt. 25. They have outdoor music and you sit along the river, great pizza! The DuPage Children's Museum in downtown Naperville is great too! If you go a bit further east of Naperville on Odgen (actually in Lisle) you can go to Pump it Up which is also great fun for kids. They have a website, just google pump it up Lisle. Enjoy the area!
