Hey doing my part to not use fuel - just got laid off - so I am not buying ANYTHING. NOT driving much of anywhere... till I get a job. Used the stimulus check to pay off visa. So much for jumpstarting the economy with it.

Steve-o you make me laugh. The SO has been like that too, driving like and old-man, making me put my window up. I'm like "Where's the sports car driving stud I fell for in my younger years?!?!?"
...But then I remember when I fell in love with him gas was $1.50/gallon lol!

I know this is a burb thread, but I saw $4.39 regular at a Mobil in Chicago today between Diversey and Fullerton. I know of many places that are $4.20-$4.30...

It's official! Chicago has the highest gas prices of anywhere in the country! I'd like to know how much of that is state tax by our wonderful state government.

I think a lot of it is... Why else would gas only be in the $3.50-3.70 range in St. Louis but $3.90 in Fairview heights just across the river?

I was just reading an article about the capital projects bill and they would like to use the lottery, gambling and the taxes on gas to fund road improvements..my question is..why haven't they used the taxes on gas for the roads already? Blago steals from one fund to pay for his "pet" projects and now they want to have more tax on gas...shameful.

$4.20 a gal for regular in Orland and Tinley Park this morning. Shot up 20 cents yesterday and to top it all off, all the station owners changed their signs almost simutaniously at about noon to $4.20! What a crock of crap! They were all $3.99 at 8am Wednesday and by noon Wednesday they were ALL $4.20! And you tell me that isn't price fixing?

Hell, I've seen $4.20+ in northwest 'burbs, so it's not just limited to Chicago (unfortunately).
