Apartments in Naperville
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum but have been following it closely since a week. Me and my husband would be relocating to Chicago in a month. He would be working at Bolingbrook. I am pretty confused and need some help with apartment search and locality that would be good for us to stay. We have some requirements and I am listing them here.
1. We would like to move to a community that is more family-oriented. I guess Naperville, Wheaton and Aurora fall under this category. I am interested to know the community activites, safety and any other issues that you people can share.
2. We would also like to find an apartment pretty close to the rail system.
3. Our budget would be $1000 - 1200/month... maximum of $1300 and we are looking for a 2bdr apartment.
After a lot of googling we are planning on sticking to Naperville. It would be really helpful if someone can give me inputs for apartments in Naperville. I looked at Amli, Bristol Station and others, but they were a bit expensive. I would be in Chicago in a couple of weeks and wanna do my homework before I get into some serious apartment hunting.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Did you check Railway Plaza in Naperville? Its literally right next to the Rt. 59 Metra stop. The only problem is that its right on North Aurora Rd and Rt. 59... read: TRAFFIC nightmare during rush hour. Naperville is a great city though, Im sure youll love it. Oh, and parts of Aurora are not-so-nice. Steer clear of east Aurora from downtown to around Farnsworth. Areas east of there are nicer (to very nice ie White Eagle).

$1200 for 2br is under the average for Naperville by a little, but not too much. Bolingbrook is not the best commute, but far from the worst. Naperville has a lot going for it despite the traffic.
Safety is very good in essentially all parts of town.
If you don't find something acceptable in your price range include Lisle and Downers Grove -- on same train line so that you can get to Naperville and maybe even a bit easier for drive to Bolingbrook.
If you have kids the Naperville schools may be more desirbale, but those in Lisle and Downers are by no means unsafe or undesirable.
Wheaton is too far north, Aurora might be more affordable, but drive would be worse and the school situation is complicated -- section closest to Naperville is quite good, section in East Aurora much worse, schools serving West Aurora are better than east, still not as good as those bordering Naperville. Make sense?

Take a look at Country Lakes. It's not fancy, but we were there for 4 years (moved recently) and didn't have any problems. The metra station is right up the street. It's about a 15 minute drive to the Riverwalk. We had a spacious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment for just under $1100.

Summer Housing
Hi all,
I am new to this forum. I am planning to my summer intern in Naperville and was looking for housing. I am 24 and single. Preferably a single room, but ready to share. Any idea what would be the average rent.
Also would it be a good idea to stay some place else and commute to naperville by the metra train.
All suggestions and comments are welcome
Pravin

Naperville is very large area with only limited public transit. Depending upon where in Naperville the internship is located you could have a simple commute or end up spending a lot of time getting to work.
Driving tends to be the mode of transport most used, not saying you shouldn't explore commuting, just that without knowing exact coordinates it is a tough call...

I live at Bristol Station now and would highly recommend it. This is my second year living here and I will be renewing again this summer. Out of all of the apartments I have ever lived in, these are by far the best maintained apartments I have ever stayed in.
I looked at Railway Stations and at the time it was a couple hundred more a month.

I will be working with OfficeMax at their head office. The company is providing me with the accommodation but I might be staying in Naperville for an extra 2 weeks, hence the requirement.

You should just buy my cute 2 bedroom townhome in Romeoville. Bolingbrook is the next town north. I live in the newer part of Romeoville where there is plenty of new growth especially with brand new super Wal-Mart and Target Plazas 3 minutes from my home.
Seriously owning is way better than renting.
