Parking in Evanston? HELP!
I just got a long-term temp assignment in Evanston (1500 Sherman). I've already been warned I will probably have to buy my parking and the job is only $14 an hour. Does anybody know any tips on how to find decent parking?
Thanks

Parking in Evanston
I'm in Skokie, so it's not far, but I dread paying $20 a day for parking

Some place around there charges 20 bucks a day? That sounds REALLY hight for Evanston.
I assume you've been there and poked around...

From my experience, many of the garages have a wait list for monthly parking. You can get it for like $100-200 a month. Call them directly and ask.

Have you checked the Dempster bus that runs into downtown Evanston? Depending on your Skokie location, that might be a great option.
If you need to drive perhaps the firm for whom you'll be working has a parking arrangement with one of the garages. The address you gave sounds like the Rotary Building and I know that they have parking.
Depending on your start time and how far you're willing to walk, there are a couple streets just west of downtown that have either free parking or 12 hour meters. Both fill up very fast and early.
Finally, you could check the Maple Street garage. My monthly was $85. (again, check with your employer to see if you can arrange as the big employers in the area have priority for monthly arrangements) If you need daily, it's about $6.

Parking in Evanston
Thanks to all,
I'll check out that parking just west and the meters. Thanks so much!
I start at 8am so hopefully I'll get lucky at that time
I did find the bus schedule but it says it will take an hour on-line from where I'm at. Unfortunately they must not been in that particular building mentioned as I was told I would have to buy it, but wasn't told how much.
Thanks again to all

The new, large garage just west of Sherman and Davis is $80 a month. That's probably your best bet by far.
