Default Mount Prospect Subdivisions - Recommendations?

We love the Mount prospect area, with the established neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, and good schools. Even though the downtown is small compared to Arlington Heights, it's cute and is right along the train line. What subdivisions are the best to buy in? Right now we're thinking either Lions Park or Country Club, but leaning toward Lions Park because with young kids we'd use the park more than a golf course. Any other recommendations? Pros and cons we might not have thought of?

If you have kids, I would lean more town Lions Park. Mount Prospect Elementary District 57 received national recognition a few years back for parent involvement and excellence. Also, the schools have had a number of programs to help develop students character and leadership qualities.

There are some difference in the composition and success of the various schools even in the well regarded district in Mt. Prospect. While some of these changes may be year-to-year there is some evidence that these differences may be due to longer term trends in population movement.

In general, the areas with more expensive homes seem to have greater student achievement. The differences are not too dramatic in Mt. Prospect, but it is something to investigate...
