There is just no place where comments like that are acceptable.
I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt in the Manhattan and Frankfort, New Lenox and Mokena post, telling him I would gladly give up higher test scores for the opportunity for my children to grow and thrive in a diverse community.

you guys are out of touch with the Park Forest youth and clearly too sensitive.
Dark Forest is what the Park Forest gang bangers/mis-led youth call their town. Dark as in a place to be frightful of, dark as a place that is gloomy, etc...LOL. some people just never let "race" leave their minds. i call those people the true racists. (*cough you know who cough*)

seriously, get race out of your mind. one who see race and racist remarks when one uses words such as "light" and "dark" in their sentences clearly has some issues.

Do you really care? seriously, 9 posts says it all. we all have disagreements on this board now and then but those are seasoned posters who we are all familar with. however, anyone under 10 posts doesn't qualify as a worthy candidate for debate. although, i think in this case the example that this 9 post monstrosity, as exemplified, proves that he or she is incapable of rational dialogue thus they are not worthy of your time Drover.

I agree with the person who wrote that we need to get over this racism crap! It's getting old. By the way school district 162 is topped ranked in the state and getting better since we've moved here!! How's that?!!!

Matteson reminds me of an Atlanta suburb. All black, well to do, great schools and white people STILL think it's the ghetto.

if you think it's well to do then you don't know what well to do means. most of the homes in matteson are 1 car garage homes. you do realize that matteson's only growth is the area that borders frankfort, don't you? the old parts of matteson are run down and cheap (by the auto mall, off of governor's highway, etc.) And the schools are NOT great...lol. again, what is your definition of a great school? a bad one?
