You would faint if you saw it now. Not rural very built up nothing like you'd remember. I also remember Tinley back in the day but it's a heavily populated area and alot of traffic.

Anyone know this neighborhood?
Thanks for all the comments so far....I really appreciate it. Anyone know this particular neighborhood?
Dorothy Lane
I went to the school right there (Tinley Heights...unless it has a different name now). We're actually thinking of moving back so any comments you might have would be very nice to hear.
Thanks!

This is the best you could come up with? LOL! But hey, you actually caught Tinley on a sunny day! WOW! Good work. I forgot what blue skies look like since its pretty much always cloudy here, and even on sunny days the sky is not blue due to the moisture and smog in the air, its white. Now that I said that you will notice it the next time its sunny here. We don't have blue skies too often, we have more white skies. Heres a good example of what I'm talking about.
This is a cool picture of La Grange Road and 94th Avenue in Orland Park and of course... Its cloudy.

Have the Lane Bryant murders changed anyone's perception of Tinley Park? It seemed like kind of a fluke incident, and I hope most people view it as such...

I think that it has changed the perception of Tinley Park. Perhaps the race of the killer has changed peoples perception of Tinley Park. I think that Tinley Park is not a significant enough of a place for something like that to change its perception greatly. If something like that had happened in Evanston, like the Keg shooting, it would affect business in the area, or the shooting at the streetside cafe in Wilmette. Both of those negatively affected those communities for a short time, but of course those communities have more of a reputation than Tinley.

I don't think the Lane Bryant shootings change the perception of Tinley Park it could have happened anywhere!

This is absolutely ridiculous and a bit offensive. As if the cold-blooded murder of five women would have been more palatable if it was committed by a white man.

I am african-american, I have a different perspective, I don't know why you would be offended. A bank got robbed in my hometown of Glencoe today. It is very sad, it was the first in over 25 years. We are known for very low crime, we have considerably lower crime than our neighbors of Winnetka, Highland Park, and Kenilworth. It is very sad.

That remark was in poor taste no matter your race. I'm black, too, and would have been just as angry and disgusted at that monster if he had been white. My perception of Tinley certainly hasn't changed because of the skin pigment of a murderer.
