Default Housing options near Libertyville

Hello All,

I am planning to move to the libertyville area. I was wondering what could be good localities ( within 300K) for houses close to libertyville area?

Thanks and Warm Regards,

~I

Nothing wrong with Libertyville itself. In fact it's pretty hard to go wrong in that whole general area. Mundelein, Grayslake, Gurnee, all nice tidy suburban areas right around Libertyville. There are also great areas to the east of Libertyville (Lake Forest, Lake Bluff) but that is the vaunted "North Shore" area and will probably be out of your price range.

Libertyville will be out too ... Gurnee and Grayslake shouldn't be though.

Actually, if you're single, married without children, or only have one kid, you too can live in Libertyville for under $300K.

Per the real estate tool I use (adrhi.com/illinoismlssearch.asp) there are 4 homes to choose from...

$300K, 2BR/2Baths, ? sq. ft.
$299K, 4/3, 1850
$278K, 2/1, ?
$264K, 3/1, 1800

If the stipulations I mentioned apply to you and you really want to have a Libertyville address, these might be worth checking out. I was just up in Lincolnshire this weekend and we drove through LV and it's got a very nice little downtown strip. They also had an awesome looking day care center (Poko Loko). We are hoping we can afford something in the area as well, but our family of 4 (with a possible 3rd and final kid in the future) won't be able to function in anything in our projected price range unfortunately.

When we lived in Grayslake, we used to send our (now 6 year old daughter) to Young at Heart daycare on Peterson road in Libertyville. Fabulous place!!!

it might be hard finding a house in the $300k's in Libertyville (L'villes a bit pricey). However, if you do end up living in Libertyville, you will really enjoy it. It is a friendly town with a good school district and all the amenities you need.
