Default Overnight parking near Des Plaines train station

I live in Wisconsin am heading to Chicago next week for Neocon. We have always driven to Harvard and taken the train from there. I'm thinking it would be easier to drive to Des Plaines and then take the train as it would reduce our travel time and also the train stops in Des Plaines more often than Harvard. I was told that there is available overnight parking on side streets near the Des Plaines station, but want to make sure that there is usually availablity for this. Any other advice on where to park (which street?) would also be appreciated.

I think you can park overnight in their spiffy new multi-story parking ramp.
