I wouldn't call the Rt. 59 exit "close to everything" though.

They had an opportunity to fix their transportation problem about 6 years ago, but soundly rejected it. As a result, there's terrible congestion N-S on Hough St (59) and definite congestion E-W on 14 and Lake-Cook. Now of course they're upset about RR plans to re-expand in their area (as are a lot of towns on the EJ&E tracks, but they're leading the issue).

Other than that, it's a very nice area, with green space and a high percentage of well-to-do people. A historic appearing downtown that's still active and filled with shops and nearby quiet neighborhoods. The term Barrington often applies to the "Barrington Area", which includes neighboring villages of upscale Barrington Hills (with 5-acre horse farms), S. Barrington (which is building a major shopping center with masses of strip malls near I-90), Inverness, N.Barrington, and perhaps Kildeer.

What were the plans? I know they tried to get Barrington to along with the Metra Star route, was there more? My highway nerdiness is very curious.
Thanks.
