Mixed results. Friend who lives in Roscoe Village used to work in Hoffman Estates. He found car pool buddies by looking for Chicago City Stickers on cars in the lot at work faster than using the Pace site: Pace RideShare (broken link)

Others have good luck with Chicago Carpool / Rideshare: 155 car pool / ride share listings

The key is having a schedule that does not vary. If you have a job that requires even occasional late hours you are going to get kicked out of any carpool...

Some big employers offer services to hook people up. At my job you can type in your zip code and see other employees who have that same zip code. You may want to ask if this exists at your biz.
