Refrade I know exactly what you mean - going from a simple word or concept to the reality of a real life growing inside of her! I can also understand how you were probably transported back in time to when you were expecting.
I am so glad to hear she has a great OB/GYN - that will make all the difference. I hope she has people in her practice that are good and that your daughter can meet in the event she delivers at a time when her primary isn't available (another reason why a Duola is a great idea - consistent support).
Please do keep us informed! Have a good night!

Hi everyone! Things are going well. But I have a question for you. I'm trying to think of something special to do for Courtney today, because it's her 15th birthday. I kinda wanna make it special and not emthisize the baby. The whole family has to work today and we're planning to do presents then dinner, as we usually do, but I just feel like I should do something else. I know it's a short period of time, but if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks

I haven't had the chance to take her for a manicure and pedicure but I think I'm going to save the idea for the day she's really feeling pregnant, and needs a pick me up. She ended up having a pretty nice day for her birthday. She got tons of presents none of which were for a pregnant woman - they were all just for her, and her godfather, came in from Barrington, and her sister's boyfriend from Ottawa. We all went out for mexican food and had a great time. Courtney's boyfriend showered her with gifts as well - a Build a Bear, and clothes and new pillows for her bed, and then he gave her a ring - which although it's not a promise ring of marriage ( they're way too young ) it's a promise to always be there for her and the baby. He's a good kid, and he just might be able to live up to his promise.
She's feeling a lot better this 2nd trimester and whenever she feels naucious the Zofran really helps. She was only a size three - so now you can see that little bulge. More and more people are aware of the situation, so things are getting easier as well. We still have to tell my husband's family - but we we're waiting until after a nephew's wedding. All in all things are going well for them.

I know I'm late to the party but anyone else smell something fishy here? In the original post two months ago the girl was 15, yet 2 weeks ago she's having her 15th birthday. And the legal age of consent in Illinois is 17, so the fact that the boyfriend was "only" 17 at the time of conception still means this was sex between an adult and a minor, so DCFS wouldn't have dropped it for that reason once they caught wind of it.....
Something doesn't add up.
