I guess you didn't get the 1988 reference at all. Go check the history books for what happened a couple of years later in Europe and you will get it.
Has the Berlin Wall come down South of 77th? Did the residents of District 204 rise up against their communist oppressors? I realize things have changed in South Naperville since '99, but that's an incredibly poor metaphor.

What? I served for the confederate Naperville South, brigade 204- and fought proudly against the Union brigade 203 from 97-01. I've even got a yearbook to prove it.

This is a bit silly though.

Since she hasn't been in the area for 10 years, things have changed, kinda like how Europe changed since 1988.

Maybe I should have used, the area around Wrigley Field isn't safe because I was there in the 1970s.

I agree pretty poor metaphor.

Do you read? I said, not once, but twice, we go to that area, frequently, for our son's golf tournaments(from April to Oct.), probably once a mo. or more. We KNOW the traffic problems, believe me. Plus, mentioned that we were glad we did not decide on a move there, 9 YEARS ago, because of how congested it has gotten. So this is the 3rd time I've tried to explain myself. In other words, we have been there, on a more regular basis than we wish, over the last 10 years and more! Reasons vary, but been there (was at White Eagle last Sunday) This is the most negetive thing I have consistantly said about S. Naper-TRAFFIC/COMMUTE. Additionally, we have family in down state IL and go that way, occasionally, form N. Wheaton, down 59 all the way to plainfield and get on rt. 30 to I55. It can be a nightmare, and this is a reverse commute as we do it in the morning, going south! The traffic going north, especially those trying to reach I88, is awful, period. 1988 Europe or 1970 Wrigley, neither apply to us. Silly indeed.

It is not that bad. It takes me an average of 15-20 minutes from Rt 59 train station to 111th at 4:45pm Mon - Fri.

Traffic in Naperville as a whole isn't as bad as the Kennedy, River North or Lincoln Park.

Hopefully, the Eola interchange construction can start soon which will take pressure off of Rt 59.

My commute downtown is a piece of cake:12-20 minutes on Rt 59 and a 36-45 minute train ride. IMO, if it wasn't for the express trains, Naperville and the surrounding area wouldn't have had the huge explosion of growth that it had.

I went through 204 from elementary school all the way up through high school and I can tell you from people that teach at both Neuqua and WVHS that you want your kids to go to Neuqua hands down (or the new one if they finally ever build the stupid thing!)

No one will miss ole Howie running things at 204 that's for sure (if you can't tell I grew up in Brookdale and we got swindled by the rezoning!)
