Having a hard time finding a roommate (Chicago, Schaumburg: townhouse, school)

I live in a townhouse in Schaumburg, and I am havign the hardest time finding a roommate. I have an add on Craigslist and facebook. The people using Craigslist tend to not read the ads. Mine clearly states young(18-24) non-smoking female, yet I keep getting tons of 30+ year old men replying . Or there are people who are moving to Chicago for school and don't know that Schaumburg to downtown is a long drive. Anyone have advice on other places to post an ad?

Facebook & Craigslist are going to be touch & go (as is any place that lists roommates). You can find legitimate people on these sites but it takes a while sometimes. You may also want to check out Roomster.net, Roommates.com, EasyRoommate.com, etc. Keep in mind that you may come across (and receive) posts from bogus people, so be careful!

Does the local community college have a newspaper or bulletin board you can put your ad in?

The college does, I ahve an ad up there, but with it being summer there isn't too much activity there right now, ya know?

Also, isn't Roosevelt University in Schaumburg? Maybe put up some ads there as well.
