First, I'd like to thank all who provided us with worthy and candid input to evaluating different parts of Elmhurst, IL (a post in early May 2008). We did decide to buy a house in Elmhurst, as whether it was North/Central/South, the community seemed balanced in relation to demographics and decent schools, and the proximity to DT/highways/zoo/shopping/parks for kids, were all great!
We are planning the move from Colorado in mid-July 2008, and as we are getting things in line - does anyone have any strong referrals regarding pediatricians? We have 2 kids (2 yr old and 3 month old) - and know that Elmhurst has both medical facilities and and a center for pediatric care (on York Rd I think). We would really like to take advantage of the facilities being right in the "backyard" - but have yet to find a referrral - Any input is appreciated! Thanks again to all - |

When a person looks for a doctor, he should check his insurance plan first to see the names of doctors that are part of the network. Then, he can inquire about specific names that may be of interest. That makes the task of looking for a doctor much easier, it narrows down the field considerably. If uninsured and paying for the services in cash, then you can cast a wider net since there is no limit to who you can see (provided the doctors accept uninsured patients).

The relationship between Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health on S. York Rd and the physician partners of Elmhurst Clinic is top notch. The majority of the doctors trained at Loyola and/or Children's Memorial. Really great care. My family has had excellent care. I would set up a initial appointment with any pediatrician and you will probably be pleased. If you want to experience more of the practicing physicians they work well in re-assigning /making referrals. Quite a few live in town too, which is great for getting quick after hours call backs.

I can also recommend Elmhurst Clinic and the Memorial Center. A new hospital has been started also. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Anderson and Dr. Senese from Elmhurst Clinic, both award winning (top pediatricians of 2007) doctors.
