I don't know of anything in or around Decatur. I doubt that anyone in the Chicago Suburbs forum does either. I will look to see if I can pull anything for you though.

Here I found the Reserve at Lakeview apartments at 1035 South Main Street in downtown Decatur. There are 1 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms. 1 bedrooms are priced from $297 and 2 bedrooms are priced from $348. The phone number I have is 866.783.5204. It is a managed building with multiple units. Good Luck!

I checked out the Reserve at Lakeview Apt. and it's for senior citizens 55 (+). I have several years to go before I reach that blessed age so for now I'll continue searching and thanks again for your help.

I am originally from Decatur. Call Terri Booker at Brinkoetter (real estate agent) - she should be able to help you. You can google or PM me for the info. She's lived in Decatur forever, most likely has client with rental properties.

I was in the exact same situation a couple years ago. Decatur has a very limited supply of "nice" apartments. The only neighborhood that is anywhere remotely up to date is Twin Oaks. I lived here for about a year and loved it. The neighborhood is very diverse and made up of mostly young professionals and senior citizens. It's a very quiet area, and is located in about the safest area of Decatur. The neighborhood is managed by a company called Swartz Properties which has an almost monopoly on the Decatur apartment market. Check out their website, I am 100% sure there is nothing comparable to this community in Decaur. Good luck with your move....I hated Decatur......
