If you are level 5 at NTHS you can chair a department directly upon graduation.

All this laughter is just masking the jealousy of the rest of us, right?
Oh, but that wouldn't be true in your case... you must just live in a place called reality.

I'm in the NT district. I think its a very good school, but I don't for one second believe that its Utopia. Since I actually live in the district, I hear all the negative talk the locals have to say about the place. There is a reason that on my block we have kids going to NT, Lake Forest Acaemy, NSCD, Loyola and Woodlands. (lots of teenagers around here) Its not that perfect, otherwise no one would send their kids to the private high schools(which btw, have better admissions to Ivy's than NT)

Right. I knew you were in the NT district somewhere, hence we couldn't all be posting out of jealousy! There's no doubt that NT provides a fantastic education, but as you say, it's not the only place where you'll get a great education and it may not be right for everyone.

I'm a NS native and have lived in the NT district many years, but I have never, ever, heard any parent of a NT student talk about NT the way the other poster does. People who send their kids to NT know all about the many great aspects of the school, but they would also know about the negatives.

Take a look at a video on www.NorthfieldBuzz.com. Linda Martin and Bonnie Larson speak about why some kids go to private vs. New Trier. They also talk about how New Trier has a strong reputation for preparing kids for college. It is the Library Plaza Townhomes video. I am not the only one who feels this strongly about the NT district. I also know about the negatives, like the school's Winnetka campus is falling apart, and I attended the meeting on Monday and I hope to see a new Winnetka campus in a few years.

I really don't have to listen to a bunch of realtors prattle on a video about their opinions.
