Cicero - at least a few years ago. I don't know if the mob is totally out of there or not. There was alot of funny business going on in that town, courtesy of Betty Loren Maltese and her posse. And before that, there was Al Capone, who ran his operations out of Cicero, Not Chicago like most people believe.

I always liked Willow Springs. The Willowbrook ballroom was always nice, (although people tried to teach me swing dancing and I never really got the hang of it). Also the Palos Forest Preserves are right there too. |

I'd vote for Cicero because of the corruption although there are other burbs that are better known for more crime and poor education.

Evanston has a bad reputation with many people for some reason. Its like you either love it or hate it. Truth is is that it is a really great community.

I would say Cicero or Joliet for Crime, even though there might be worse. And I think Winnetka for snobby people because of the North Shore and New Trier.

Winnetka does also have a very VERY bad rep for being snooty and it is a lot less pervasive than you would think as an outsider. There are more snooty people in Winnetka than in the surrounding communities, but Highland Park comes close!
