Who said I don't miss Chicago? I love Chicago. Just because I love living in Houston doesn't mean I love Chicago any less. And by the amount of reps I get when I comment about the area, I'd say many don't mind me being in the forum. The forum is about "Places you can't stand living". The direction of the forum turned to places you can't stand where you lived before. And I answered, "Yes, Naperville." Naperville is not Chicago.

Funny how you hate Naperville but love Houston. Both are sprawling suburbia for all Im concerned. Take Naperville, multiply its population by 10, add just a handful of buses and taxis, throw in a few small skyscrapers, crank the heat and humidity up to unbearable levels, massively spike the crime levels, sprinkle in a few hurricanes and VOILA! You have Houston!

j/k

I've been hating Chicagoland/IL from December 1st when the first snow fell. I will like it again more in March and it will increase through May. June through October I will absolutely love it and honestly declare there is no better place to live. Then it will start all over again in November.

Cubsoxfan, for what its worth, my Pa from Ireland used to tell me to use the winter as a humble proof of a Universal Creator. If we acknowledge some omnipotent being orchestrating the seasons, we will be in awe and it will make us better people. It proves how little control we have and how "Something Else" calls the shots. Anyway, it humbled me.

Same here. Although I miss all of my family on the West Coast, three quarters of the year here, I feel okay with staying in Chicago. It's that first snow fall of the season that makes me say to myself, "When am I going to leave already?".

Elgin is white trash???!! Wow, that's the first time I've heard THAT criticism of Elgin! I usually hear that there are too many hispanics. There are a lot of good people here of all races who are working to improve their community.

Me too. I dread when the temps start to get real warm in late spring. Ugh.
