Default Couple questions about relocating to NW Suburbs

I'm relocating for a job in Northbrook and I have a few questions...

What is the commute like from Schaumburg to Northbrook?

What's a good area in the suburbs where a lot of younger people live (20s)?

Is living in the city out of the question? Too far of a commute?

Thanks for any advice!

Suspect many of those in 20s who live in 'burbs still live w/Mommy and work at BestBuy or some retailer at a local mall....

Most <30yo professionals live in Chic, even if work in 'burbs...

Chic to Nbk is an easy drive...

Even when visiting Chic for business to visit cos. in 'burbs, many stay at hotels in City...only place in region w/decent hotels, restaurants, bars, younger and more attractive crowd....and having done the Chic to NS drive in rush hr many times, would argue it's fairly easy....

hmm thanks for the advice. I definitely don't fall in to the live at home/work at best buy category. So what's a good area in the city? I have a couple friends who live in Bucktown. Any other good places? Is traffic from the city to the suburbs not bad at rush hour?

My friends and I all grew up in the Schaumburg area (most in mid to upper 20s), and live nearby on our own now. I used to commute from Algonquin/C-ville area to Northbrook and took me an hour or occasionally a little over an hour. I'd imagine the commute from Schaum to N-brook would be about 45 min? I have to say Schaumburg is a good area outside of the city for younger people to live, and most my friends including myself have regular office jobs.
