Oak Brook vs Hinsdale
If you was wealthy or have enough money, and you had to pick between Oak Brook and Hinsdale, which one of these suburbs would you rather live in and also tell why ?

Hinsdale is charming, Oak Brook is not.

If truly wealthy, would argue life's too short to live in either OB/H...
Both suburbs offer large, tasteless houses on puny lots...and a gruesome daily drive into Loop via a notably slower, more problematic freeway than Edens...and none of the elegance of proximity to LkMI that NS suburbs provide....
Would much rather live in Eastern Lake Forest...

I would stay in the city and buy a huge place on Lakeview Terrace... Or perhaps Astor Street if I were REALLY wealthy. And I'd have a second home on the lake in Winnetka or Lake Forest.

Hinsdale has the McMansion / McFortress motif going on, Oak Brook has the real mansions and fortressess. Also, in Oak Brook one can get a home on actual acreage, not so much in Hinsdale. That being said, Oak Brook just has the mall and nothing else, Hinsdale has very quaint downtown, pretty rolling hills, very good metra to downtown, very good services. I would choose Hinsdale, mostly for the downtown and the metra service.

I would build a castle in Edison Park or Edgebrook;nestled in the Forest Preserve.
I prefer Oak Brook for reasons not easily explained.

I can't stand Oak Brook and am surprisingly drawn to Hinsdale. Their downtown is too cute. I can't say I'd live in either, but if I were going to it'd be the easiest choice of my life which to pick.
